The solid insulated ring main unit (RMU) is an integration of modern technological achievements. Judging from its design principles and structural characteristics, it is a safe and environmentally friendly new type of RMU, particularly suitable for use in locations with high altitudes, large temperature differences, pollution, and humidity. It will play an important role in China's strong medium-voltage smart grid.
Several Thoughts on Solid Insulated Ring Main Units:(1) Application of three-position vacuum interrupters: Firstly, it is necessary to consider the insulation performance of each functional part inside the vacuum interrupter and their interrelationships; secondly, the dynamic and thermal stability of the vacuum interrupter at each functional position should also be taken into account.(2) For three-position isolating and earthing switches: It is essential to carefully consider the corresponding operating mechanism to ensure the accuracy and reliability of its functional positions, and to confirm the operating sequence and interlocking structure between this operating mechanism, the circuit breaker operating mechanism, and the cabinet door.(3) In the design of single-phase poles for solid insulated switches: The influence of the magnetic field of surrounding conductors on the interruption performance of the vacuum interrupter should be carefully analyzed. It is hoped that during the design and analysis process, electromagnetic field simulation software will be used to conduct electromagnetic field simulation analysis on the overall single-phase pole, so as to reasonably optimize the design structure and ensure the uniformity and rationality of the electromagnetic field.
